Workplace Wellbeing Day 2015

Ireland’s first Workplace Wellbeing Day will be held on Friday 27th March 2015. This fantastic initiative is being organised by IBEC and The Nutrition & Health Foundation. The campaign aims to improve employee health by promoting better nutrition and physical activities in the workplace.

Wellbeing in the workplace is something that has taken Dublin by storm. We talk to employers every day about how they are encouraging their employees to live a healthier life and the steps they are taking to make sure they can offer the best supports to their staff.

Many employers appreciate that taking care of their staff has huge benefits to their company. Not only does it increase the company’s corporate image and make it more attractive for people to work there, it also effects the bottom line. Healthy employees who are looked after by their employer have been proven to be more productive and the staff turnover and absenteeism in these companies also decreases.

One of our customers, Fenero Contractor Solutions, is leading the way for SME’s in Dublin when it comes to promoting healthiness. They have been announced as a Champion Company of Workplace Wellbeing Day 2015 after implementing a wide variety of perks that their employees can avail of. We deliver a market fresh fruit basket directly to their office every Monday morning which is free for the staff to help themselves to throughout the week. Having fresh fruit available encourages them to choose a healthy snack that increases their energy levels to keep them going until lunch time or get them through a 3pm slump.
